We came to Omaha tonight (Saturday) to spend the night. We have some errands to do, and since we already went to church, we skeedaddled here so there can be shopping after sleeping in. (Thank you, Priceline.) Lloyd’s looking for a new monitor. I’m looking at everything else.
Tonight we stopped into Bass Pro Shop – a favorite store of my brother’s. It was quite impressive – lots of well-trained animals holding really, really still all over the place.
Despite the fact that it’s a building filled with tools for killing animals, I like the store. The camping gadget area more than made up for it’s sinister purpose. I was looking for a multi-tool, and found one that I like, but realize that I really don’t need. It was still fun to look, though.

The store like that in our area has a giant aquarium. It’s stocked with the kind of fish you catch and eat: trout, bass, crappie. (Hehe… I said “crappie”)
Beth says
I say crappy every day. Heh.
Unfortunately, sometimes Tim does, too.
Peggy says
I agree about the camping section being filled with cool stuff…awesome stuff! Even futuristic stuff!
And don’t feel too bad for the bears…they get paid big bucks to pose like that.
Michele says
I shouldn’t say this, but Bass Pro is like foreplay for the Steppe men. When the mail comes and there is a Bass Pro catalog, it’s almost as exciting as when the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue comes!
Brady G. says
Not nearly as convenient as Bass Pro Shop, but I am a Cabela’s man myself.
Mark says
Bass Pro built a store in Omaha? Or is this the one in Council Bluffs?
Lauren says
It’s in Council Bluffs, which is the same as Omaha in my book -- they’re right there together. I thought of you the whole time. 🙂
Mark says
Well, I guess I’ll have to go find it! I’ve been in the Cabela’s west of Omaha, but not the Bass Pro.
