Happy Father’s Day, Dad and Dad!
National Geographic suggested that this map shows that Hawaii is the happiest state, but I think it clearly shows that Nebraska is, if not the happiest, at least the least sad.
I attribute this mostly to the fact that we have more of a representational democracy than the rest of you guys (except for Maine).
Brad says
Could it have something to do with the cows-to-people ratio of each state?
Lloyd says
I was going to jump on board the cows-to-people ratio bandwagon, then I looked at Wyoming. This also happened to shoot down my “more people = more unhappy” theory.
Beth says
Does it look to anyone else like they colored Hawaii wrong? Shouldn’t it be the lightest shade of sienna?
Peggy says
Agreed. Hawaii should be lighter, right? Now I don’t know whether to move to Hawaii or NE…Are they purposely trying to mess with us? Oh wait, this is a US Government Report…never mind.
Beth says
Um. Apparently I really wanted everyone to know what I was saying.
That or all the add-ons now available at LandL.com have made the uploading slow enough that I get very impatient and hit the Submit Comment button multiple times in a vain attempt to make it go faster…
Beth says
Ok. Now can you talke this one off…because it doesn’t make any sense anymore. And thanks. 😀
Curt says
Haha!! I don’t know how many times I commented and for some reason it didnt’ get posted. I end up not rewriting it cause I couldn’t remember what I wrote.
Lauren's dad says
Thank you!
Arron says
This map is full of lies!!! It shows that the county in Iowa where my parents live is stress free … pure white. However, I know for a fact that this is the most stressful area known to man, hence we rarely visit.
Lauren says
Ha! Now that’s comedy!
Karla says
Oh no, that’s not comedy -- it’s the truth!
Lloyd says
Why is that one county in south western Nebraska so depressed?
Curt says
Because they are on the border of Kansas.
Lloyd says
It does look like people in Kansas are happier the closer they get to Nebraska (or maybe it’s just the further they are away from Texas).
Curt says
I am glad they kept this map down to 4 colors (actually shades of brown). One more shade and it would be discriminating against the color blind. I would have to call the CACBD and report it.
Lauren's mom says
Gosh! Do you see that little triangle on the western side of Colorado? That’s Delta County!
Lauren says
You guys seem unhappier than your surrounding counties -- are you ok? 🙂
Mark says
Once they can see their children and grandchildren again, the county’s color will lighten up. Right mom and dad?
Lauren's mom says
Remember, “If Mama ain’t happy, NOBODY ain’t happy.” (At least nobody in Delta County.)
Yes, that soon will change!
