Seriously, what’s going on?

June 23, 2009 by Lauren 11 Comments

So, I woke up Monday morning and thought, “Hmm…my nose is sore”. I didn’t think much of it until I got out of the shower, dried my face – and noticed that it was still sore. What the what? It looked fairly normal, but the bridge was sore. It hurt when I touched it, it hurt when I scratched it, it hurt when I wrinkled it. (I stopped doing those things, but I complained about it all day.)

I complained about it today, too – especially when I noticed my profile. I’ve always had a bumpy nose, and I’m ok with it, but it looks EXCEEDINGLY bumpy to me now. I made Lloyd come look, and he concedes that it might look a tiny, tiny bit swollen. I proceeded to convince him that this witch nose looks nothing like my normal nose. We took photos to document it, but I’ll never ever share those with you. If it continues to look like this, I’m getting a nose job.

So what happened? Did he accidentally hit me in the night? Neither of us remember that. Did I hit myself – waking myself up? I must really hate myself to give me this nose. Hmmm….. what could have happened?

    Maybe it’s a bug bite?

Maybe you had a twin sister who has been dormant all these years but is finally starting to grow and she’s growing out your nose. Cool! You’ll be on TV! You’ll be more popular than Octomom!

Arron tried to blame his brain hemorrhage on me – that I elbowed him in the head during the night. So then I threaten to even him out and bonk him on the other side of his head.

Are you getting a zit on your nose?

That was my guess too. She won’t let me look up her nose.

Well, luckily the internet has provided me with many people who are in the same boat. Let the paranoia reign!!!

My vote is for “blind pimple.” For some reason when you get a zit that hasn’t “come out” yet on your nose, it hurts like hell. Try my mother’s cure for EVERYTHING – hot compress (seriously, she cures everything skin related with a hot compress).

Blind Pimple. That’s a name I haven’t heard. We call them “Nerve Zits”, because they feel like they are located directly on a pain receptor of a nerve and they’re dancing a little jig there.
My friend calls them “Underground Zits”.

Any other names for those out there?
