I cleaned out my closet(s) yesterday. I think I sent about two dozen shirts and several pairs of pants off to Goodwill. Lauren did all of the folding and packaging, as I was in no condition to do any of that after the agonizing decisions I had to make. Several of the shirts were old enough to go to college. In fact, several of them attended Concordia on my back.
This one was the saddest. Todd Peperkorn took this picture of me, my shirt and Lauren while we were tooling around Germany. I’m just glad to have the picture to remember it by.
We packaged them up along with some of Lauren’s clothing (so they wouldn’t be lonely) and delivered them to Goodwill after Brighton Kollipara’s 7th birthday party.
I have big trouble “letting go” of clothes. Even if they don’t fit me anymore. Maybe it’s about time I cleaned out my closet too…
I think you should have kept the shirt and made a pillow of it.
If we made a pillow out of every shirt Lloyd has a sentimental attachment to, we’d live in the House of Pillows. 😉
That doesn’t sound so bad. House of Pillows.
Didn’t you used to live in the Basement of Pillows?
Lauren didn’t just burn the old clothes in the chiminea?
As it turns out, Eco Lauren trumps Pyro Lauren.
NOOOOOOO!!!!! Not Billy Mayes!!!
I know. So sad. At least you yelled, “NOOOOO!” Billy would have been proud.
It is most grievous…but wait! There’s more!
Hit on the head during a rough landing? C’mon??!!!??!
Bet you’re thinkin’ twice about your nose?!
I’ve been in a car for 2 days. What are you guys talking about? Also, will you be home Tuesday afternoon? We’ll be coming through.
Billy Mayes died today. Lauren is too verklempt to speak about it.
I’m sorry you fell out of love with your shirt…somehow love was always more special in black & white?
BTW: You two crazies were in Germany?!?! Excellent! Where else have you been? And here I thought you didn’t like to travel.
The Germany trip was a college choir tour the summer before we got married. It was a six-week trip, and despite my reluctance to ever travel anywhere, it was quite enjoyable. I’m glad Lloyd’s shirt could be with us.
