(That’s sung to ‘Hooray for Hollywood’, in case it wasn’t obvious.)
Well, this was quite a day! Lloyd and I hung out with Rachel, Scarlett and Jack for a bit at their place, and got to watch Phil golfing. Even with my zip knowledge about golfing, I could tell that he was good.
Then there was a little food shopping and food cooking in preparation for the rest of the crew. Keren, her boys, Mark & Rachel & Matthew came in around 4:30 and it was on! Hugs, kisses, and introductions for some. See, the last time that we were all together was at Phil & Rachel’s wedding in 1999. Ten years ago! Since then, Jacob and Matthew have been born, and some of us hadn’t met them yet. (Keren, Jacob & Charlie live in Alaska, and in case you didn’t know, that’s WAY far away.)
So, we visited, ate dinner, and just hung out enjoying each other’s company. It’s a glorious, noisy time.
We are cracking up about how different our sleep schedules are. Mom, Dad, Lloyd & I are in the ‘early to bed, early to rise’ camp, the California & Alaska citizens are all night owls, and Mark and Rachel (new parents) don’t remember what sleep is.
I didn’t ride the Segway today, but tomorrow…… yes, tomorrow……
Beth says
Will there be a family picture taken? I’d like that. And since, I clearly matter. Please take a family picture. 😀
Karla says
I’m with Beth, take a family picture. There was one Thanksgiving that we nearly forgot to take group pictures. Deanna was crabby that she had to come back from the motel for pics, but she did. It ended up being the last time we were all together.
Take lots of family pictures.
Lazy Lauren says
Thank you ladies for the reminder. If a family picture is going to happen, I’m sure Mark will take it. I’ll have to do a whole separate post about his camera!
Karla says
Oh boy! You know I can’t wait for that one! 🙂
Lazy Lauren says
That’s actually me(Lauren) that made the comment. We are too lazy to log out around here.
Hey, this just in from my mom: at 12:34 and 56 seconds today the time/date will be be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 . Cool, huh?
Lloyd says
[un]fortunately, the only family photos you are allowed to take in Branson are Old-Timey photos.
Deanne says
Mmmmm, corn on the cob. We don’t get really good corn on the cob here. Enjoy your family time!
Kristi says
What a handsome fellow!!! Lloyd, I mean Matthew.
Curt says
Did you climb a tree to get that picture of Phil golfing?
Lloyd says
That fairway was right underneath their suite. It was sweet.
Brad says
Great. Now I have that song in my head. Thanks, Lauren.
Peggy says
Maybe this will help Brad:

Lauren--so glad that you have the opportunity to be with your whole family! Enjoy!
Heidi says
Wow! it’s great to see pictures of everyone. Mom & Dad are going to St. Louis to see you all this weekend! Please tell everyone we said Hello!
Lauren says
You should come along!! We’d LOVE to see you guys!
Michele says
When I saw the first picture of that golfer I thought I was stalking the wrong blog! It looked like something someone in my family would post! My dad, mom, husband, and a few of my brothers all play the links.
L and L -- there is nothing like family! Near or far, nothing can compare to the silliness and memories that you can only experience with family. I’m excited for you AND I’m anxious to see what Brad might do to your place while you are away!
Rachel says
Hey, who’s the stud in the golf duds? he looks sweeeeeet.
Rachel says
hey, who’s the stud in the golfing duds? he looks sweeeeet in that suite shot.
Lauren says
Back off, lady, he’s taken.
Hee hee. Hi, Rachel!
