Gadget, Journal

Well, a shower, breakfast and a handful of Tylenol and it was off to Lincoln to do some shopping. We didn’t leave until 10, so we weren’t amongst the crazy early shoppers, but the stores were still plenty full. We mostly had some replacement things to buy for school, so our shopping was pretty focused.

So many electronics.

We looked at a lot of ovens. I’m stuck between “This is the only time I’m ever going to buy one of these so let’s get something awesome and gadgety’ and ‘Good grief, you just need something that makes food hot.’ This is going to take a while.

I’m committed to getting a smooth-top, even though I know I’ll scratch the bejeebees out of it. I toyed around with a dual-oven because I only cook for two people, and it seems totally awesome more eco-friendly to use the smaller oven for most jobs. The largest little oven (what an oxy-moronic phrase) was on an awfully pricey model, though.

Whatever. Making this decision might take us months. Good thing I have a plan for using our current oven. I’m just leaving the pan drawer out and plugging it in when needed. I could do this forever.

The plug is conveniently located just a gritty arm's-reach away.

    Glad you’re feeling better….Yay!

I always wanted a double wall oven…like in the Brady bunch…and an Alice too would be great…but my kitchen isn’t big enough…for the oven…I’m pretty sure Alice would fit.

You got mustard and salsa on Black Friday? Were they really good deals?

There was a “seasonal store” in the mall that sold things made in Nebraska and some of the people who made the stuff were giving out samples. They tasted good, so I bought them. You gat a problem with that?

I am also oven shopping today…..on hold with Sears since the sears stores don’t have display models of the built ins here. We are getting a microwave/oven combo to replace….well the gaping hole in the wall.

I have to say that if I bought an oven, I would get one with a smooth top. I HATE cleaning the top of the stove…all those places for the burned and spilled food to go.
