In an effort to feel less Grinch-y, I put up a little Christmas tree today. It is all that’s going up, because in a couple of weeks decorations are just supposed to come down again, and honestly – why make Future Lauren go through all that hassle? I’m sure she’ll be too tired for that. You’re welcome, Future Lauren. You’re welcome.
The tree is behind the door in the living room, because that’s the obvious, logical place for a tree, right?
In other news, I needed to refill my sugar dispenser and felt a small burst of festivity coming on. Colorful sugar! Turns out you can’t really mix food coloring into sugar in a tiny bowl like it shows in the photo. That makes a decidedly unfestive, bad-word-muttering mess. A ziploc-bag worked much better. Now I have damp, colorful sugar hardening into a brick in the dispenser, and shaking it to loosen it will soon mix it all up and turn it …… hmmmm…. I wonder what color?
That’s neat looking 🙂 I hope it works!
“…hardening into a brick in the dispenser…” Hahaha!
I like your tree. It’s understated Christmas.
We should get regular updates on the state of the sugar dispenser. Wait, what am I saying? It’s right over there ->
Hey where’d my comment go?
Don’t use the sugar. Use the white stuff in another bowl. That is too pretty to mess up. Save it until Christmas and then make cookies or something with it.
I like the little tree behind the door. That’s sweet.
I think it’s beautiful.
Well, I turned all Martha Stewarty all of a sudden and put garland and lights up over the front door. It’s been so foggy lately that the trees are all covered in hoarfrost and it’s an incredibly surreal landscape. Nothing like driving on sheet ice, though. Good luck with the sugar!
