Carrots got legs!

January 27, 2010

(Do you know that B.C. comic strip?)

Knobby knee - wouldn't look good in a miniskirt.

I know my picture-taking skills stink but seriously, doesn’t this carrot look like it has a knee? Well, ‘had’ a knee. I peeled it and chopped it up into carrot slabs, which are 78% more fun to eat than carrot sticks, and much less horrifying than eating baby carrots. Oh, the carrotanity!

Your post led me to a delightful trip around the internet looking at how baby carrots are made.

Did you have a memory of that BC comic and go looking for it, or did you search the internet for something about things with legs and stumble upon the comic? It’s not one I remember.

Do you totally feel snookered about the baby carrot thing?

I remember older siblings yelling, “Clams got legs” from childhood. We had a whole collection of B.C. comics in thin, hardbound books. We also had a set of Peanuts books like that. Hmmm… were they some kids’ book club thing? I don’t remember.

You are so right…there are some foods that just have to be eaten in a certain way…like apples…when I do eat one instead of letting it rot on my desk….it must be cut into slices.

And I only eat baby carrots…funny how I never gave a thought to how they were made…now I know! But I throw out any irregulars…I don’t take the time to remove any deformity.

I love baby-cut carrots! But I’m just too stinking lazy to cut up regular carrots, which usually taste better.

Remember when baby carrots first came out and they were really baby carrots, instead of baby-cut carrots? Now those tasted great!
