My new anthem.

February 24, 2010 by Lauren 10 Comments

Sorry for just posting videos, but this one is worth it to me. Things have been a bit crazy lately, and March is going to be a bear. Deep breaths. Deep breaths.

This video makes me happy, and the chorus is just what I need – ‘Let it go, this too shall pass’.

(You’ll have to click on the link in the link.)

(It’s the Norte Dame marching band! Did you know I was a flag girl in marching band? Rock it out.)

**********
You know you can’t keep letting it get you down
And you can’t keep dragging that dead weight around
Is it really all that much to lug around
Better run like heck* when you hit the ground

When the morning comes

When the morning comes
Can’t stop those kids from dancing
but why would you want to?
Especially when you are already getting good
‘Cuz when your mind don’t move then your knees don’t bend
But don’t go blaming the kids again

When the morning comes,
When the morning comes,

When the morning comes,
When the morning comes,

When the morning comes,
When the morning comes,

Let it go, This too shall pass
Let it go, This too shall pass

You know you can’t keep letting it get you down,

No you can’t keep letting it get you down
Oh Is it really all that much to lug around,
And you can’t keep letting it get you down

When the morning comes
(Oh you can’t keep letting it get you down,
No you can’t keep letting it get you down)

(*He doesn’t say ‘heck’.)

    Aw…that’s cool.

I might have liked marching band if we did anything cool. Or not. Because I really hated band in general. But my parents made me. As they should.

    Thanks, Lauren. That was spectacular!
P.S. I was not a flag girl in high school marching band, but wanted to be. How sad.

I LOVE this video!! I LOVE the song!! I will play it over & over! Is there a way to put it on my iPod?

    (I was never in a band…or a chorus…but I did take guitar lessons in 2nd grade)

Excellent, dearie. And, Charles, was that a not-so-subtle hint as to your upcoming birthday? (And your lovely wife’s birthday, too?)

I LOVE the bells player. Speaking of high school, I had those glasses in high school.

ps. I played clarinet, flute and piccolo in Marching band (not at the same time…) well I played Flute and piccolo in the same show senior year… Um… Think of how bad shrill a piccolo sounds… then imagine a flat piccolo.
    k thanks bie

This made me smile. Thank you! Best of luck with your difficult March. We’ve had a difficult February, but… the morning is coming!
