Just to make Lauren wish that she came to my niece’s Britney’s confirmation, we went on a Segway tour of San Antonio this morning. That should teach her to let me go away on my own.
It was a two and a half hour tour and was just about perfect. It was a coolish day in San Antonio so Lauren’s draconian limitations on what I could pack were not too onerous*. Our tour guide Matt was super. He seemed to a lot about everything in San Antonio that he decided we should stop and look at. We Segwayed around downtown then went to an empty parking lot where we could open them up (top speed 12.5 mph) and get that sort of thing out of our system.
Next it was onto the River Walk which was cool (literally) and vaguely dangerous (also literally). From there we went through the King William district which is filled with lovely historical houses. I asked why it was called the “King Williams District” and Matt told us that it was originally the “Kaiser Wilhelm” district, but a few world wars put a stop to that. From there it was back along the river walk, more downtown touring and finally the Alamo.
If our experience was any indication, The SegCity Tours are highly recommended.
*Mark your calendar, I believe this is the first use of the work “onerous” on the website.

The helmets are what make the pictures complete.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!! (another 1st?) That tour looks amazing!! Why on earth didn’t you go Lauren?
(Did you pretend to be Butch or Sundance?)
Mark says
Well, at least Lauren got to watch (via Skype) her youngest nephew eat big chunks of cantaloupe, show his “Sooo Big!!” hands clapping, and lick/kiss a computer monitor. Right, sis?
(And I do think that I’m the first one to use “lick/kiss” in a sentence on this website.)
Brad says
Did you get to visit the basement of the Alamo? That’s where Pee Wee Herman’s bicycle was.
Lloyd says
They said we couldn’t take the Segways down stairs.
