Let my love open the door.

Gadget, Journal

Lloyd had a Republican convention party at the Civic Center here in town, and I went over ahead of time with him to help put up signs telling the Republicans what to do. “Go in this door, Republicans! Meet in here, Republicans. Yeah – do what I say.” Oh, the power.

Anyway, the doorway of the meeting room he was in had been retrofitted with these crazy clever attachments that turn them into lever handles! That is nutty and brilliant all at the same time! I’m having trouble finding out who made them – I only find links to people patenting similar ideas.

I LOVE this!

All you super-inventors out there, I salute you.

Interesting, but why take the time and expense to convert? Are lever handles more ergonomic or conference-friendly or something?

Plus, when you have both hands full of stuff, you can just lean on the handle, and Voila! the door opens for you. It’s also great for arthritic hands, not that my hands are arthritic yet.

I, for one, am in favor of anything that is retrofitted.

I know of some bathroom faucets that could use these. The cold and hot knobs are round with no grooves.

Cool -- I think all handles and doors should have the lever. It’s a lot easier for everyone to use.
