I haven’t actually cooked a dinner in ages. Life has been a bit hectic lately and food has taken the hit. We’ve been living off of Subway, frozen pizzas, and Johnsonville’s brats. (Those don’t really count as cooking – we just heat them up.)
I have a bunch of stew meat in the freezer, but it definitely isn’t stew weather. I googled “what can you make with stew meat besides stew?” and came across this site. It was for beef burritos, and I had most of the stuff. It definitely took more than five hours in the crock pot to make it tender, though. I tried it after two and it was super-yuck. After the whole time, though – yum. It needed the whole packages of taco seasoning, though, since they were a little bland.
Breakdown: Brown stew meat, throw in crock pot. Brown onions, throw in crock pot. Put a chopped up garlic clove in, a cup or so of water, and a package of taco seasoning.
Dinner. Not the best, but as we say around here “Alive another day”.
