Yes, it’s Second Saturday! We might go to the State Fair so Lloyd can buy some mustard, or it might be another day chock-full of naps. *sigh* I’m good either way.
Between naps I’ve been puttering around the house. I’ve cleaned a little (thank you, Hoarders), processed some laundry, and had a couple of cooking experiments. One experiment was seeing if I could freeze celery.
I don’t often need celery, but I like to cook with it. The few times I buy it, I use a couple of stalks and then the rest turns to pudding in the crisper. That’s so wasteful it makes me crazy. Today I tried chopping some up, freezing it, forgetting all about it, and then was completely surprised that there was a bowl of celery in the freezer.
It’s bagged up and is ready for future experiments meals. This ought to work, right? I know it won’t be crispy once it’s thawed out, but I don’t need it to be crunchy if I’m cooking it. Right?
I’m insecure about my celery.
