The Clubbs are members of Lauren’s church in Colorado, and I think Lauren has known them her whole life. I met Aaron Clubb, who I’m to say is the oldest child, when he was about six years old. When we went to Colorado for Lauren’s parent’s fiftieth wedding anniversary party, Aaron showed me (okay, I was tagging along while he showed my nephew) his bicycle to which he had recently added a motor.
Needless to say, there was much gushing.
Brad says
I used to say that if there was something I could magically just have the ability to do, it would be guitar playing. Now I think I would have to say -- being able to add a motor to something.
That is awesome.
Lloyd says
You could add motors to all sorts of things: screwdrivers, lamps, chairs, curtains, .
Jill says
The idea of curtains with motors is almost more than I can take tonight. Must be the paint fumes (ask Beth).
Lauren's mom says
Aaron rode that bike to church that morning, which is, I think, about an eight mile ride. He was just checking it out to see how well it worked, and seemed pleased with it.
Peggy says
I would like someone to invent a motor that you can add to oneself.
Lauren says
Ha! Aaron -- get right on that!
Karla says
Holy cow! He did that to a Trek!
Aaron says
Ha ha. Yep, that’s my old trek. It used to be a Trek 7000; now, it’s a Trek 7000+50 or a Trek 7050.
Lauren says
The 50 is for…… 50% more awesome? 😀
Aaron says
pretty much!
My motor is 48cc or ~50cc. Federal and local laws generally permit you to get away with with bicycles (provided they still have functional pedals) with a motor under 50cc, so 49cc is the limit. Most people just call them 50cc.
