So, it’s been a heckuva holiday around here. I’ve been sick and have only left the house to check the mail. Saturday morning I actually took a shower, but then spent the day on the sofa cursing the liars who make cough medicine. They lie – oh, how they lie.
So, since all I have is whining on my plate, tell me something wonderful you ate! (Hey, I’m a poet and don’t know it.) It can be something from the Big Meal or something else. Mine would be the Runza meal that Lloyd brought me for lunch. I couldn’t have stomached turkey one more time.

My sister gave me an awesome brined turkey recipe a few years ago, and I made bomber turkey. It’s awesome every time, and I love it still, even today.

For lunch yesterday I had barbecue chips, peanut M&Ms, and a Twix bar. It’s fun every once in a while to just eat whatever you feel like eating.

I’ve been working on the gluten free crustless pumpkin pie that I took to a family gathering, that barely got touched, and that got sent home with me. But now I find that I am having trouble getting the pie and the cool whip to come out even. Does that mean I need to bake another pie? Sorry you are not feeling well. Try something with lots of hot peppers?

How about on Wednesday, the girls and I had Everything Bagels with scallion cream cheese for breakfast, a hot dog from a street vendor in Battery Park at noon, and a slice of NY Pizza on the train on the way home from the city.
Charles says
I would also recommend some spice or at least whiskey!
Kristi says
Broccoli cooked with butter and parmesan cheese. Yum!

Divinity. It’s at Wal-Mart again for the Christmas season. Oh how I love Divinity.
Or maybe pistachios. Oh how I love pistachios. Cracked right from the shell…
Peggy says
What is Divinty?
Gravy. Turkey w/gravy, mashed potatoes w/gravy, stuffing w/gravy.
And a delicious chocolate mouse cake dessert.

It’s this candy-thing that I love. Love might be an understatement. Which is funny, because I don’t care for sweets much, and you can’t possibly get a sweeter candy-thing…funny, huh?
Google Pecan Divinity Candy and check them out.

Whew. I had it mixed up with Turkish Delight, which is an all-out ‘yuck’ in my book. (Sorry, Brad.)
Divinity actually looks pretty tasty. It it crunchy or soft?

Why don’t you try some hot tea with lemon and honey. Maybe you have already. We had turkey and trimming Thanksgiving and Lotsa snack food cheese, crackers sausage you name it Sat. Lloyd kept all the glasses filled and food on the table.
Lauren says
Yes, we’ve been drinking lots of tea with honey and lemon. I’m almost out of honey now! 🙂
