A kitchen makes a terrible office.

May 31, 2011

Friday night. Lauren is drawing a queen for a post and goofs up. She reaches amongst her junk for the white-out and it is gone.

Lauren: “Where’s my white out?!”

Lloyd: “In the card catalog drawer marked ‘pens and markers’.”

Lauren: “No! I need it at my fingertips for emergency white-outing. *sigh* I need an office.”

Lloyd: “If you’d keep in in that little drawer by your knees I’d leave it alone.”

Lauren: “But then when I hollered ‘where’s my white out?’… no one would know.”

I’m always looking in that knee-drawer for scissors. Maybe I’ll bring scissors with me this year and put some there. And some correction fluid.

White-out…at one time in my life I couldn’t be without it. Now I can’t remember the last time I used it. I don’t even think we own any. What changed? Certainly it is NOT that I make fewer mistakes.
