We did a little driving this weekend and saw some flooding. Our rivers are FULL on the eastern side of the state! We saw this hotel, and though you can’t see the sign too clearly, it says, “Lakefront Property for Sale”. Now that is looking on the bright side, eh?

There’s so much talk going around about that -- down my Nebraska City especially -- have you heard when the river is supposed to crest? (Is that even a correct sentence with the correct vocabulary? I keep re-reading it and thinking Yes. And then No. I want to know when the river will be it’s highest…)

I don’t think anybody is flooding around here. We’ve had a wet spring, but the last couple weeks have been dry, and a couple of days have been HOT. But this morning there is a light, gentle rain. Yay for my garden!
Peggy says
Hehe….Lakefront Property! But I like their way of thinking….maybe I could adopt that way a little more in my life.
Kristi says
Some of our friends along the Niobrara hauled everything out of their summer trailer. The whole thing is going to flood.
Karla says
We had a terrible storm yesterday afternoon -- some houses in the neighborhood are got water in the basement. No one has power; it’s been over 28 hours. We’ve been spending our evenings in Arron’s classroom because there is power there. And air conditioning. And a television.
