If you know me, you probably know that I can look pretty calm on the outside, but can also be a boiling cauldron of insanity stress.
Last year was a rough one for me. There was quite a bit of extra stress, and I remember that one of the things that made me feel better was walking through the exercise equipment in Sears and smacking the bejeebees out of the punching bag.
Lauren: “This is great. You should buy me one of these.”
Lloyd: “Ow! You missed it.”
Lauren: “…. or did I?”
I never bought one. The price was prohibitive, and plus, it gave me a reason to go back to the mall on a regular basis. It was like having a really cheap, low-level gym membership.
Well, Saturday at the auction they had a whole bunch of these occupational therapy rolls. Jackpot!
They’re not really punching bags – they’re much too light – but I hung one up in my basement and it. is. awesome!!!
I’m pretty sure I’m going to break one of the bones in my left arm because it’s so weak, but in a couple of months I think I might give Rocky a run for his money.

*giggle* that’s a creative way to do that! I’ve been wanting a punching bag myself.. but you’re right, they are expensive…
Also, I don’t think my parents would want me to hang it in my room.. or me either for that matter…

I’m wondering what occupational therapists use those for. I’ll have to ask my sister.

It’s good that you got a red one. I’ve read that red is the color of rage. I wonder why The Hulk is green?

Way to go!
Living with all boys, I’ve had punching bags in our house & I’m way to uncoordinated to use them. I would give it a good punch & it would swing all crazy so I couldn’t get a 2nd punch or it would whirl back to smack me!
I’m a door slammer. I should have a door/frame installed in my basement.

I should clarify that by ‘last year’ I meant the year before this one. Not that it matters. 🙂

I’m an occupational therapist but I use mine to rollout very big pie crusts.
Lauren says
Ha! You’re seriously an occupational therapist? What are the chances of that?
Mary Ellen says
That’s how I found your website. The word “preschool” in an online search for some activity ideas for an OT group somehow brought me here. Enjoy your physio-roll punching bag, but try not to break your hand or you’ll end up needing OT!
