The route that I take to school everyday goes over a railroad track. It’s a pretty nice crossing. You can take it at speed if the idiot in front of you doesn’t slow down to a crawl. Usually there is no train, but I’ve traveled this route roughly 1,800 times now (this was my 10th year teaching at Lincoln Lutheran) and so I think it’s pretty safe to say that there’s been a train at the crossing at least 100 times.
However, there are usually never tanks on the train (and by usually, I mean except for this once). I believe they were being dispached to shore up our shaky border with Wyoming.
I am, however, open to other thoughts concerning their destination.

Tank You for that enlightening post.
Lauren says
Oh, yes -- Wyoming.
However, I feel that South Dakota is becoming far too familiar. Maybe it’s time to send them a message.
Beth says
It’s Iowa we need to worry about. Those Iowegians.
Peggy says
Hasn’t there quite a few Big Foot sightings in the midwest?
Brad says
Maybe they’re selling them to the recycling center. I hear that’s pretty good money.
Lloyd says
The going rate seems to be about $200 per ton, so a tank should be worth about $12,400. You’d think you could just drive them to the junk yard. Of course, then you have to have someone else to drive you back, then it’s just a big hassle. Nevermind. Train seems like the way to go.
Mark says
Oh good! My order should arrive sometime tomorrow. Thanks, Lloyd!
Mark says
(My wife said, “Get something you’ve ALWAYS wanted for Father’s Day.” So, I did!)
Lloyd says
Wouldn’t one have been enough?
Jill says
One is never enough.
Karla says
Hey, my bil is in charge of the National Guard for WY. I’m sure they’re the ones defending the border. Do you want me to try to talk him down?
