I would like the record to show that I have begun to take my Christmas tree down, and it is not even February.
I just got started – mostly so I wouldn’t feel like such a sloth during my third hour of Storage Wars – and only put away the non-bulb ornaments and candy canes. Yes, I save the candy canes from year-to-year. I don’t like them, and Lloyd doesn’t seem to notice if they are new or five years old. The lights and bulb ornaments will stay on until Epiphany, but I would still like this momentous event to show on the record.
You’re keeping the record, right?

Taking down the Christmas decorations…isn’t that what Easter break is for?

Ha! Good for you! My outside lights will be up at least until Ash Wednesday. Maybe I’ll take the Christmas wreath off my door before Friday. I didn’t put many Christmas decorations up inside, which makes it easier to clean up. Of course, I’ll need to switch my smelly candle from pine scent to something else… What does January smell like?
Lauren's dad says
Fresh baked cinnamon rolls!

Record noted. And also for the record, I’m scowling at you….but in the nicest, possible way.

I’ve gotten as far as putting the Advent wreath away. This year, though, I’m going to be smart about it. I’m putting it into the fall tote. That way, when Advent rolls around, I’m not digging through all of the Christmas boxes to find it.
