We had some wonderful volunteers come to my school this week to build a structure on our playground. It is an open-ended house/castle/pirate ship hull/treehouse that the children just love.
What I love is that they bought all the materials and got it done!! We just have to pay for materials and love them forever. Done and done.
Comment suggestion: Where was a place you liked to play outside when you were a kid? Me? The tree out back of the church – it had two different good-to-sit-on-limbs to choose from!

Awww… they’re so cute!
We had a metal monkey-bars structure that was always the Hall of Justice during recess. I was always Aquaman for some reason. I think Superman was taken.

There was a corner on the outside of our house (created by the outside walls of our parents’ room and the piano room) that was sort of hidden by a big pine tree. Tucked in that corner was the outside gas meter.
It made for a fantastic restaurant. I made about a million grass-leaf-flower salads and bark-chip burgers in that place. And rang them up at the gas-meter-counter.
I loved that little corner of my world.

The boy in the yellow shirt has some serious dance moves… or bathroom issues. Anyway, the structure looks awesome! The delight on the kids’ faces proves it. Well done!

Zeke just watched that with me. He said he wants to play on it too. We’re on our way over -- see you in about 14 hours. 😉

Kudos to your awesome volunteers!!
We loved to build & play in tents when I was a kid. We’d use blankets & sheets and make tents on the back porch or use the clothes pole (umbrella style). We’d even spend the night in those tents.
