Or third, even.
On Saturday we drove by a very nice house with a very odd add-on.
See? Nice house.
It is probably broken up into apartments, since Lincoln is a college town and we don’t have many land barons or socialites anymore who need the whole mansion. Better to rent out rooms to the poor scholars.
Anyway, we saw an ‘entrance’ to the top floor. It can’t be an entrance. We get ice here in the winter, and that would just be a slip-n-slide.
Or – I can only hope and pray – it’s a fire exit. A really, really, really bad fire exit. A ‘maybe burning would be a safer option’ kind of fire exit. Can you see how it spans over the driveway? It just needs a good stiff breeze to get it swayin’.

That staircase looks like a test of courage. Maybe the upstairs apartment is one of the stops on a Hero’s Quest.

HA! That is the weirdest thing ever! My only guess is that giants live in that building & need all that extra space when walking around the building. Or a bunch of drunk college students built it.

Reminds me of the quality construction of the loft bed I slept in during my Concordia days…
