I am a bit of a children’s Bible snob. I only like the old version of the Beginner’s Bible. They have a new, updated version but it’s not as good. The stories are abbreviated and the pictures are less detailed. No sir, I don’t like it.

I usually have to buy a new Bible every couple of years because the kids are so hard on ours – as they should be! Our Bibles are meant for reading. The problem is that the good version is becoming more and more scarce. After Grace dropped our Bible a couple of weeks ago and knocked the nativity story right out of the middle, I knew it was time for an eBay blitz.

My first on has arrived. It was wrapped in a Spanish newspaper! How funny to see an ad for a Dutch restaurant in Lloyd’s mother tongue.

Maybe it's not a restaurant.

The inscription kind of tugged at my heart, too. Where are you, Andrew C. Gordon? Do you still love your mother? Did you learn to read in love?

I always hear the horse when someone says “No sir, I don’t like it.”

Is the cover pictured at the top the one you like or the one you don’t like? I will keep my eyes peeled at garage sales for you! How many extras do you like to have on hand?

It’s the one I like. You certainly don’t have to go through any extra trouble for me, but to answer your question: All of them. 🙂

      Dad, thanks for the tip!
