I came home from school early again today (woo-hoo!), but felt yucky (boo-hoo). My stomach has been actively hurting lately, so a little rest was helpful. When I woke up from a little nap, the t.v. was on, Chopped was playing, and Lloyd was home.
Are you familiar with the premise of Chopped? Four chefs compete for $10,000. They start with an appetizer, then the worst one is ‘chopped’ from the competition. Three chefs prepare an entree’, the worst chef is chopped. The final two chefs prepare dessert, the worst one is chopped and the winner acts all noble and non-smug.
As Lloyd ate his bowl of Chex mix, he looked very, very thoughtful. He paused the t.v. and softly said, “I know how we can eat for the next year….”
Would you like to be on our show? You’ll have to sign a contract saying you won’t tell everyone THERE IS NO PRIZE MONEY spill the results of the show until it airs on Food Network, or else you’ll have to pay a blab fee.
Brad says
Excellent idea. I’ll be on your show. How do you feel about peanut butter crackers for appetizer, breakfast cereal for entree, and Oreos for dessert?
Karla says
Did the chef on the left cut off his arm?!? Wait, maybe that’s the secret ingredient…
Lauren says
Ha!
I see you are up and vigilant on the sequel -- GateWatch: October 17. Thank you, Karla!
Karla says
You bet! I have to do my part to keep the world safe! I just hope Brad is able to find the right gate at the bustling Lincoln International Airport; one wasn’t published as of last night. I’m sure it’s because a diplomat will be traveling.
Peggy says
You are a genius Lloyd! How many readers do you have? I think there’s going to be a lot of “Chopped, the Home Version” going on now!
Lloyd says
It won’t work if everyone runs their own show. People will start to catch on. We’ll have to work out some sort of schedule.
