My laundry cycle is off. Usually I do 3-4 loads over the weekend and that’ll do it, but since we were gone last weekend I did all the loads on Wednesday night, and this morning I had no socks.
Part of the problem is that I’ve only had about nine pairs of my precious Smartwool socks, but a weekly washing kept me socked up with no problem. But my pointy toes have worn some significant holes, and the heels gave out on a couple pairs so I actually threw out three pairs.
So here’s the quandary: do I pony up the money for the expensive, wonderful socks that last for years and years or wait it out through sandal season?
This post was brought to you by the letter ‘B’ for boring, and the number ’18’, which is what a pair of socks costs.

How about 14? Does that make it easier? http://www.socksaddict.com/Categories/270-SmartWool.aspx?gclid=CMmNyMPViLcCFUWK4Aodji8Azw

It does! Thanks!

Mental floss says today is National Lost Sock Memorial Day. Maybe we should observe a moment of silence.

Get the good socks. It’s not like you’re going to outgrow them.
Brad says
Can you re-wear your socks? You could go twice as long before needing to do laundry 🙂
Lauren says
Not these feet. I don’t think the ozone layer could take it.
