We have a robin’s nest at school. I watched the mama build it a couple of weeks ago. Poor thing – she picked a spot where the downspout is rather far from the building and the sticks just kept falling. She persevered, though, and we’ve watched her sit and hang out on the eggs.
Only a few of the kids and I knew about it. I didn’t want to draw too much attention to it in case some of the younger ones tried to throw stuff at it. (You never know.)
Today, though, I realized that the beak I could see peeking over the edge was not mama – it was one of three or four big ol’ babies!
At naptime I made an unsafe contraption to record them for the kiddos.
You can enjoy it, too.

Great video! We had robins about a month ago on our downspout outside our front door. We did not throw anything at them. Everyone’s grown and gone now.

Awwww…..I love that! It warms my heart so! I do so love animals and what’s cuter than their babies? Nothing.
(And this videio is especially nice to watch after my ride into work this morning where there was 1 dead fox, a 1/2 of a deer, and a possible smushed groundhog on the sides of the road.)

Now I have the “12 Days of Christmas” tune in my head.
