I’m in Denver! I left around 8 Nebraska time and stopped as often as I wanted. The cruise control is out in the Honda so I basically pushed the car to Colorado with my right foot. My leg hurts. It was a good trip, though. I saw seven pivot-sprinkler rainbows, so I took that as an excellent sign.
I Pricelined a hotel room and it is swanky! It doesn’t always work out that way, but this time it did. Here is a 360 view, post-bedbug check.
I broke up the trip for several reasons. I wasn’t in the mood to drive straight through, and ….. Denver has an IKEA! Since nobody in the world wants to spend as much time there as I do, it worked out just fine. When St. John builds the new CDC, I think. U-Haul trip to IKEA might be in order so we can furnish it in the coolest, most Nordic way.
Tomorrow I’ll be on the road again and won’t be able to check comments, but I’m sure you’ll want to share with me your deep love for IKEA. Right?

When we remodeled the preschool/kindergarten room at my other school, we got a lot of stuff from IKEA. I’ll go with you on your U-Haul trip! Enjoy!

Your hotel room does look swanky! I like that small partition that divides the room. It looks like a rice paper panel.

Wow! What a cool hotel! Swanky describes it perfectly. But I wonder if you could have just spent the night in the IKEA …. maybe on the way back!
Have fun on your road trip!

Random thoughts about IKEA:
1) They have a fabulous breakfast deal at the IKEA in the Netherlands. A hard boiled egg, slice of cheese, brotchen, croissant, butter, jelly and coffee for only one Euro! I love it and so do the senior citizens.
2) The IKEAs in Germany do not take credit cards! This severely limits my impulse shopping -- which could be good or bad.
3) Many people here prefer the IKEA modern look -- which means they are ditching their grandparents’ antique solid wood furniture. That is also a win for us because we can pick up amazing antiques for cheap at the thrift shop. Love that too!
