Did you know that I am a huge baby? (Ha. I just had a vision of a huge baby.)
I mean that I am a big weenie when it comes to bugs. I have only held a ladybug once and a worm twice. (Well, two different worms, each one time.) Bugs are fascinating, but man, they creep me out!
Today at school one of my guys brought in a whole little bucket of cicada shells. “Awesome!” I said, while I fainted a little inside. I quickly drew some circles with numbers inside, and the other adults thought I was making a great counting activity.
(They were actually tiny little jail cells. Stay in there, creepy little bug jackets.)
You should have a tiny little warden.
Thank goodness he only brought the shells! Ack….even those are super creepy!
Bugs freak me out too….and especially beetles at this time of the year. I will run around like a mad person rather than just sit in my seat & swat them away. It’s embarrassing but I can’t help it.
PS. It’s funny you mention the image of a huge baby. I’ve recently been creeped out by that very thing…..twice.
I would have been that kid bringing the shells. I loved bugs! I still think they’re interesting. Did you know that houseflies find sugar with their feet, which are 10 million times more sensitive than human tongues?
One of my favorite bugs is the rhino beetle. First time I saw one was on Mom and Dad’s farm down in MO.
(the video is for the creep factor) 🙂

I checked and these buggers fly too! I would just pass out or die!

That’s what I hate the most about beetles (not Beatles, love them)… the sound they make when they fly. And that awful thud feeling if they happen to land in your hair as your running around.
Hahaha!! I love that video!!
I read that these are popular pets somewhere… Japan I think?
