There is some commercial on t.v. for some tooth whitener that has the line, “If you’re not whitening your teeth, you’re yellowing them.”
Dang it. Dang that super-effective commercial for whispering in my ear with every cup of coffee I pour. “Enjoy your caffeine jolt! Yellower teeth at no extra charge!” Dang it.
Sometime last week I came across the tip to use hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth, since the main ingredient in whitening strips is just stronger peroxide. (They also said to brush with baking soda, but a Google search said that doing that too much can wear away your enamel, and I’m on thin ice already with that.)
Hmmmmmm. I’m all for cheap fixes. I just so happen to have an 88-cent bottle of hydrogen peroxide in my possession. For the past week I’ve been swishing some for a minute each day, and I’d like to think that my teeth have since held steady at their yellow level, despite the 28 cups of coffee I’ve had since starting.
I just read something that said yellower teeth used to be thought of as stronger than white teeth, and therefore more desirable. You don’t need peroxide. You need a time machine.
Yay for quick, more cost effective fixes! But I better not try it…things like this always backfire on me in some way.
Rememeber the perm on just the top part of my hair….and the time I got a pedicure and broke my toe. A black & purple toe than gradually faded to a yellowish green with a toenail that fell off wasn’t the look I was going for.
(Off topic: Lauren, my son will be stationed in Alaska beginning in Dec. Doesn’t your sister live there? Or used to? How did/does she handle those winters? Does/did she like it? I knew it was cold there…but I just looked up how COLD it really is there. Goodness! My son requested Alaska so don’t feel sorry for him.)
I am the world’s worst sister/daughter and hardly ever call or talk to people, but I can tell you that in the past when I’ve talked to Keren about the winters, she hates them. Same with spring and fall and the ‘summer’ that hardly is.
If you are someone who enjoys the cold (like me), it’s probably right up your alley. If you are someone who loves southern temps, it will be a bit rough.
Why is she there?
