St. John is moving toward getting the church, school and CDC more unified in how we operate. One of the ways this is happening is by getting our time worked / payroll / vacation days on a computerized system so it’s less of a headache……
Wait….. I already wrote that post. It was about the little tablet that Samith gave us. Dang it. You already know that part of the story.
Well, as it turns out, the little tablet is cute as a button, but it has some drawbacks. It is pretty small, and it didn’t have the option to stay on longer than an hour. A refurbished iPad seemed more along the line of what we needed. That’s been purchased, but we’re looking for a secure way to attach it to the wall. Enter…..
Lauren and her ‘good enough’ woodworking skills.
It’s about 75% finished, but I’m posting about it tonight because that’s what I spent my evening doing and there’s nothing else to talk about.
The very, very best part? I chiseled out a way for the power cord to thread through the back of the chair rail (what I’m using), then badly cut a notch for the ‘home’ button on the opposite side…… Then realized that they needed to be on the same piece. DANG IT!!!!
*sigh* I ‘fixed’ it. You know what they say – “A little putty, a little paint makes the carpenter what she ain’t.”
More to come later!
