I have actually been working on cleaning my house over the past several days, but just at a very slow pace. After work I would take a little time and vacuum / clean the upstairs bathroom / work in the basement / do load after load of laundry, but it doesn’t really look like I’ve done much. The problem is twofold: First, the jobs I am doing are the kind that don’t really have the ‘wow’ factor. I mean, you sweep a laundry room and put laundry away and there are still piles of junk all over. The second is that I never finish a job all the way to the end. The third – EDIT: this problem is threefold – is that I’m so messy that the instant I’ve accomplished something, the next thing I clean gets the room re-messy.
This is how PigPen started, huh?
Anyway, one of the things I am most proud of is that I finally changed out the toilet seat in the downstairs bathroom. (I will not provide a picture, thank you.) Remember back when we were going to toilet train the kittens? Well, to use the system you put a tray of litter over the toilet bowl so the cat gets used to doing his/her business up there. (There are different sizes of trays with holes in them so they use progressively less litter and progressively more splashy water. This was never going to work with Ralph, the water lover.) The instructions said to secure the toilet lid so it wouldn’t fall and crush your cat, so of course I duct-taped mine to the tank. I never, ever got all the residue off the lid and it was getting embarrassing, so long story longer – new toilet seat.
How was your Sunday?
