I told you we gave up satellite a while ago, right? For the most part it’s working out just fine. We have an Apple TV hooked up so I can watch my favorite shows using my Hulu Plus account ($9 a month), and that’s pretty great. I don’t watch a lot of tv during the week, but on weekends I really like to have t.v. on as I doze off. The problem is: shows have become both precious and difficult. I don’t want to ‘spend’ a good show and sleep through it, but it takes too long to find a ‘throwaway’ show, then it only lasts 44 minutes max. I missed having something to drift away to that kept going.
Well, Sam and Rachel have a digital antenna, so I bought one, too! Lloyd was sick, so I bought it myself, and didn’t even buy the cheapest one, as is my M.O. According to the directions, I should have been able to pick up up to ten channels, but I get 4: CBS, ABC (it stutters out sometimes), Live Well Network and MyNetwork TV that is tied to our other local CBS channel.
It seems to be a good setup. I am spoiled from being able to pause shows – you can’t do that with this. But after 35 naps, I’ll have the cost-per-use down to a dollar.
(It’s the black thing leaning against the t.v. shelf.)
Brad says
You mean you just receive the channels through the air and don’t pay for them? That’s so weird.
Lauren says
Yes. It’s like stepping back in time when you only got a couple of channels.
Lloyd says
Is it legal?
Lauren says
Legal, schmegal.
(Yes, it is legal.)
