Sometimes in my line of work you have to come home and make a birdhouse for your kids to assemble the next day.
Sometimes you are happy because you get to tilt your miter saw to the side instead of just swinging it. Then you are sad because your ‘whatever’ measuring made the pieces lopsided.
But it will all be fine, because honestly – nobody cares. The kids are doing a building project with our student teacher. I love it because we get out some of my favorite books. I had to re-order Albert’s Alphabet because we have loved our copy to death. The last page is missing so we never get to see how the last half of the alphabet turns out. Thank you, Amazon Prime, for saving the day.
Friday is going to be a good day.

If you put the lopsided roof with the longer overhang to the south, the birds can have extra shade. Maybe then the air conditioner won’t kick on in the winter. 🙂

That looks fun. Maybe you could read the story of the crooked old man in the crooked old house and tell the kids the roof is crooked on purpose.

If you wouldn’t have mentioned it, I would have never noticed. I’m still not sure I notice it. Your tool & building skills never cease to amaze me!
And this book does look really cute! But I’m probably more infactuated with Albert than the building that’s going on.
