I am sorry, but I am going to complain about grammar again. Last week we had some before-school meetings and one was with a very nice lady from the Department of Education. Her presentation was useful, but she said “there’s” followed by a plural noun at least eight times. (I kept tally marks on my handout.) “There’s so many resources out there….” ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!! I want to cringe when I hear it from anyone, but when people with master’s degrees in education do it, I want to stab them in the eye with a pencil.
Same with “her and I” or the less common “him and I”. Really?!?! REALLY?!!?
Lloyd said I should just start an automatic correction service. If I wasn’t such a weeny about appearing like a jackhole, I would.
