I actually enjoyed the CPR class I took last Saturday. The instructor was smart and to-the-point and told us ahead of time that this class could be a LOT longer, but we would be doing it the efficient way. It helped that all of us had taken it several times before.
Things have changed so much since I first started doing this. Everyone – adult/child/infant – is 30 compressions to 2 breaths (that changed a while ago), but the latest change that threw me is that we don’t check for a pulse at all, ever. I guess it’s because people were wasting time searching for a pulse. They’ve made everything much, much simpler so that more people will do something, because something is better than nothing.
Anyway, I was so inspired, I bought CPR masks-in-a-bag-on-a-keychain to keep with our emergency bags at school. I do so love a good gadget. Go, go gadget keychain!
