Lloyd and I had not been to our local library in years. I had visited it virtually: they were going to finish the basement and during their funding campaign, their website had a cool 3-D walk through feature. Well, they finished the basement, years went by, we finally went to see it. (It is beautiful in person.)
Lloyd wanted to check out a book. We did, and sure enough, I had a fine. We paid it, went home, and forgot all about the book. The overdue notice came on Monday (Lloyd and I have not been awake in this house at the same time this week). Today I showed him the notice and asked if he had any memory of checking out the book. We searched the house and the car, and sure enough – it was under the seat.
What’s the lesson, kids? Never read books.
