I didn’t have anyone sign up for home visits tonight, so it seemed like a good time to paint the 3’s preschool room. The classroom walls looked pretty ratty last year, but I didn’t get around to painting them during the work days. We have a new teacher joining us this year, and she deserves to have a non-ratty looking room.
Lloyd had stopped by in the afternoon to do some work on the plans for the new CDC, so I asked him to stick around and keep me company. He did a fine job. We both worked in silence.
The paint was the cheapest I could find. The lighter color was ‘Vanilla Shake’ – a pre-mixed primer-and-paint, and it matched the old color perfectly! The brown is darker than I would like, but it was in the ‘goof up’ section in the paint aisle, so it was crazy cheap. It’ll do.
I time-lapsed the painting of the darker wall, which is fun to watch. It actually took about half an hour, counting the trim work, but it’s so satisfying to see the paint just fly on! (I did have to do a second coat, dang it. Dang it!!)

I second that “Dang it”! Doing a second coat is frustrating. The wall looks very nice.
Brad says
I don’t see why a second coat would upset you since it only took you thirty seconds to do the first coat.
Jill says
Snort.

You do excellent work! I will be calling on your mad skills in a week or two. I loved the video, especially the very quick pause toward the end when you say something to someone -- possibly Lloyd.

If only all the work could be done with such speed and efficiency, then work would be a lot more fun.

I wish all painting would go that fast. My dad always said that if he went to Hell, they would make him paint.
