Well, the retreat was a good one. The only real downside is that I was a sweat machine during the morning team-building games, but thankfully everyone else was in a similar situation so we were all very forgiving. Other than that, the food was wonderful, the sessions were bucket-filling, and it gave us – me, at least – much to think about.
Another good thing? We left a to-do list at the CDC for the college students that came to clean while we were gone, and they did a fine job. I went over after we returned from the retreat and realized that it was also the optimal time to re-paint the parking lot. (No traffic and the evening was fairly cool.)
I’ll admit that I got a little sentimental about it. I’ve repainted that parking lot for many years, and this might be the last time. Thanks for your service, parking lot.
