Lloyd and I went to Omaha today. I wanted to check out CostCo to see if it might be worth a membership. It’s nice, but unless they build one in Lincoln, I’ll stick with Sam’s Club. I also wanted to go to Cabella’s to visit the camping stuff, and we successfully left without purchasing anything. (I shoplifted ideas, though. They’ll never jail me for that!)
But the big reason for the trip was to visit Children’s Hospital. A past preschooler of mine is the poster boy – literally! – for their orthopedic …. division? section? What is something like that called? He was born with both clubfeet, and after many casts (when he was very little) and a big surgery (that happened when he was in my class), he is 100% fine. His mom told me about the posters and I wanted to see them in person.
He is on the outside of the hospital (seen above), a park bench (that we didn’t find), in the lobby (seen below), an on the inside doors of an elevator. That one was the most awkward: there were three elevators and of course he was in the last one we rode. The thing is, you don’t want to look like idiots playing in the elevators in a children’s hospital, so it took us a while. The photo that Lloyd took was MOST unattractive of me, so we’re all denied that joy.
