Sam and I – and to a certain extent, Lloyd – have been trying to hang doors at S&R’s house. (We need some sort of combo name for them. Samachel? Ram?) Sam and I tried on Monday and it did not go well. Since then, he found a Bob Villa-approved method that we tried tonight. (Nutshell version: You make four jigs to tack along the frame to hold it in place, then put in the shims and nail through. That sounds a LOT easier than it is.)
A lot of things went wrong, but a few things went right. The bathroom door that we messed up on Monday is up and – for the most part – fine.
Anna’s closet door? Not so much. The little boards that I brought to use were not so straight, and we were all kinds of tools short.
I brought one of my little hammers, which Sam mocked. I don’t know how he’s any better than me – he was using a hatchet, for Pete’s sake.
Thursday night is another go. We’ll finish Anna’s door and try to get the laundry door on. This is so fun!! 😀
