Happy Birthday to my Mom!! She is 29 years old! 😉 Enjoy your day, Mom!!
This morning at work we were about to check the calendar and I heard a weird, LOUD sound outside. I looked out the window, but there wasn’t any heavy machinery to be seen. I told the kids we were going to go exploring.
We walked to the end of the block where it was even LOUDER, but again, no machinery. I left the kids with the other teacher and went across the highway. There was a big hole (they are replacing the gas lines in town), but no machine. What the what? I looked at the big yellow pipe, and you could just see where something was spraying out of a valve. “Great, I’m going to die in an explosion” was my first thought.
A worker was walking by, and we went back to tell the children that they were bleeding air out of the line (that was the sound) so they could fix a leak. We decided to go walking to watch them work. We went six blocks – all the way to Lena’s house – because she had already told us that ‘those workers wrecked our driveway’.
We saw many workers, many holes in people’s yard, many coils of yellow ‘pipe’, and Sam. Sam, did you make it to your auction?
Mom, I’m glad I didn’t explode on the day before your birthday. 🙂
