As the new CDC is built, I really want my class to understand what’s going on. They all know generally that there is a big hole in the ground, but that’s about it. The group that I really had involved in the ‘planning’ of the building? They are first graders now. I’ve been slowly getting this year’s class on board by showing them some photos, and today we took a walk to see the actual job site.
It sounds easy, but to walk those ten blocks, it takes us nearly half an hour. I’m not even joking. This is not a trip we will make often, and one of my little short-legged girls knew that a looooong trip was coming, so I told her I would have a surprise snack when we arrived. That lifted her spirits! When I busted out the Skittles as we rested in the narthex, all was sunshine and roses.
