Once when we were having Sundays with Samith, he was saying how when his sons have activities at school, it is a huge pain for him to drive back home (20 minutes there, then 20 minutes back). He needed a place to hang out – maybe watch t.v. or do some work. He was considering renting a cheap apartment. We came up with the idea that he could rent an office. It would probably be cheaper, and – more importantly – a zero chance of having bedbugs.
He did!! I am so jealous! It’s just a couple of blocks from Lincoln Lutheran, and today he gave us the grand tour. The actual office part is about 11′ x 14′, but he also gets the entryway area, which is about 9′ x 16. Here’s a little layout:
Much of that furniture is not there. The entryway is empty, and his office just has a desk and a cabinet. I stupidly did not take a photo of the actual room. Here’s a blurry shot from a video:
He has plans to put a futon and a t.v. for maximum hanging-out-coolness. I have played around with the furniture:
The funniest part was the room off to the right. It can’t be rented out as an actual office because the fire exit for the floor is in there, so the door can’t be locked. It used to be used for teen court. Get a load of this:
Teen court!
That’s the jury box on the right, the witness stand on the left, and the judge’s bench up front. Crazy!
They have since moved their location, but the stuff is still there. I think I’m going to have to go over to Samith’s to play.
Order! Order, I say!!
