The forecast is supposed to be hot this whole week, so we are having sprinkler play every day, not just on Friday. We play with a couple of long hose-type sprinklers that the children use to fill buckets and then dump on their heads. It’s pretty funny. As the water drains off the concrete, it makes a nice little puddle along the fence for stomping. I’ve often thought about doing something to make that puddle a little more substantial, so today I stitched a couple of fabric tubes and filled them with sand. It worked wonderfully. Licensing requirements say we can’t have water deeper than one inch for water play, and we are now proudly at that one-inch mark.
We now know about ‘sand bags’ and ‘blocking water’ because I’m not quite ready to say ‘dam’ in front of them. I thinkn itn alln then timen. Whoops. I added n to the wrong words.
