This morning is our Thanksgiving Breakfast Buffet. In past years I made a couple dozen hard-boiled eggs but there wasn’t time this year. For the memory record, I made a bunch of biscuits and heated up a can of sausage gravy (half in microwave, half on stove, dump in crock pot).
Lauren, remember to write down later if this was total failure or not.
UPDATE: Ok, this is going to count as Saturday’s post, so if you are reading it Friday night you are spoiling your tomorrow.
It was good. Do it again next year. You bought ten tubes of the 50-cent Wal-Mart biscuits (only made nine) and baked them in three batches. Let them cool before you package them up in that big Rubbermaid container that you can never find. You put the gravy in the crockpot with a splash of milk (unnecessary) and woke up early so you could heat half of it on the stove and the other half (in the crockpot liner) in the microwave. That took about 15 minutes, then you put it in the actual crockpot on ‘high’ while you got ready for work. People seemed to like having something savory, so do that again.
One more Breakfast in the books. Friday also marked the last day of three weeks of evening commitments Monday-Thursday/Friday. I had my last parent-teacher conference tonight and was crazy-stupid-tired talking to the mom. (It was a little embarrassing.) Then she left and I went back to work. The college student employees are all gone next week and the parade is coming up next Saturday.
Yay.
