We had a bunch of leftovers in the fridge, so I made a pot of garbage soup. Lloyd and I both declared it delicious, and mourned that we would never eat it again.
Nah, it wasn’t that dramatic, but it was good.

We had a bit of an ice storm, but thanks to modern technology we knew to hole up for the day. I slept in, made a big breakfast, then actually did something other than watch t.v. all day. I painted the upstairs! After the ceiling was replaced, there were a couple of inches of drywall mud down the walls. Lloyd helped get rid of the drywall dust. He’s a keeper. A long-haired, pajama-clad keeper.
I bought the paint a week ago, and the lady at Menards did a bang-up job of matching the old color. It is exactly the same, so I didn’t worry about edging along the baseboards. I just edged along the ceiling and painted the walls.
I shouldn’t pat myself on the back too much, though. As I type this, all the painting stuff – ladder, roller, pan, tarps – are still spread out upstairs. That could take days to put away. 🙂

My guys are really into numbers. They love to count and add, and one guy has even figured out how to count by threes. They know the world’s cutest/most annoying chant: “One, two, skip a few, ninety-nine, one hundred.” I only let them say it once a day each.
One boy boasted that he could count to a thousand. No, he could count to a million! Tired of hearing it, I found a website (count one million.com) that counts 24/7, unless you close your iPad, then it pauses. I got it running on my laptop, and on Friday at noon, we will see the big number. How long does it take? Twelve days. We jumped in on day five, thank goodness.

So, I did get a photo of the refrigerator cleaning, but I was mad about it. When Lloyd decides to clean, I revert to six-year-old behavior. I was annoyed that he would tell me to do something that I was already doing. Washcloth in hand, he said, “The inside of that needs to be wiped down.” Ahem. 1) Are you blind? 2) Don’t tell me what to do. Then he had the nerve to say, “We don’t have any photos of this.” Grrrrrrrr. I told him that he knew where the cameras were. (I was very cranky.) Anyway, here’s his butt:
Later, all was forgiven and I snapped pictures of Ralph.
I love Ralph. He never tells me what to do.

Well, we did a fair amount this weekend, but I don’t have a ton of documentation. I’ll just make a boring report. Saturday we went to a surplus auction that was kind of a bust. I spent time looking at stores but not buying. After lunch Lloyd had a meeting about Marxhausen stuff while I worked on more circles for the CDC walls. (I’m becoming a bit obsessed.) Then home for naps, dinner and t.v.
On Sunday, we had church and then the typical Wal*Mart run. At home, we cleaned out the refrigerator, including taking out shelves and scrubbing them down. That was weird. It’s very clean. Almost…too clean. After that I went to Lincoln again to actual purchase some items. (Shelves for work and paint for the upstairs where the ceiling was fixed.) We at dinner at the Other Sommerers and then home again.
See? Pictures might have made this all better, but there’s no guarantee. 🙂
