Lloyd and I accomplished more things today than any person has a right to. Donuts for breakfast, I called my parents, then off to the CDC to load up some art and do some jobs. First off: replace the rubber bottom on a kickstand-style doorstop. (Did you know they sold replacements? Now I do.)
Wait. I forgot that earlier I patched up a hole on our sad, extremely comfortable sofa. When Kathryn came by, my plan was to either fix the rip or just flip the cushion. I went with the flip…. and there are two rips on the other side.
It doesn’t match and it’s not perfect, but when a cat sleeps there, you can’t even tell.
Ok, back to the CDC. We have an ENORMOUS plant that was gifted to us when Concordia didn’t want to take care of it anymore, and it is taking over the commons area. When we have chapel, the little toddlers pull on the the branches and I worry it’s going to topple and take some of them out.
Snip. Snip. Snip. We thinned a whole lot of dead, droopy branches out and cut back some of the healthy ones, too. I think I might chop more off the top later, but for now it’s just fine.
Then we were off to set up some Marxhausen art in the windows of a lawyer’s office right beside the art gallery downtown. It was a team effort between the gallery owner, Lloyd, Beth and my tote-and-carry skills. It looks much cooler than this in person, but I was hurriedly taking photos in bright sunshine. I’ll try to get better photos later.
The lawyer who works there said it was a much better use of the windows than holding the fake plants that had been in there for years. I have to agree.
Church in the evening, which was of course the most meaningful part of the day. Easter is coming!

I walked by your Marxhausen display today. Very nice!
Lauren's mom says
Hi!
Don’t cut the top off of the plant…It will just send out a bunch of side shoots at the top.
Also…I think I see you in the first of the window pictures.
Mom says
The display looks good. The plant does too.
Brad says
ahhhh… It feels so nice to get a bunch of stuff done. I did not get a bunch of stuff done today. I mean I still feel good, but it’s a “restful” good, not an “accomplished something” good.
