Maybe taking it a bit too far.

October 17, 2019

I’ve been on my soapbox of “You’re using too much soap!” before. (Heh. ‘Soap’box. The irony.) I will refrain from going on and on about other kinds of soap, and will limit this to toothpaste.

First of all, many people are using way too much toothpaste. That amazing swoop of mutti-colored Aquafresh that captivated us as children is about four pea-sized amounts, which is what dentists recommend. A dollop is all you need.

Second of all, Aim toothpaste is great. It tastes good, it foams fine, and best of all, a tube is only 88 cents. So cheap! So smart! It’s got the fluorides and everything!

Third of all, I have begun to write the date of ‘first use’ on my soaps to see how long I can get them to last.

Fourth of all, last October 1st – 2018, not 2019 – I wrote the date on my tube of Aim.

Fifth of all, today I opened a new tube. Yep. It lasted over a year. A year!

Sixth of all, I recognize that limiting myself to a mere smear of toothpaste that is maybe a fourth of a pea is a little crazy, but again – I think people use too much soap.

Relax. I brush my teeth at least twice a day and I haven’t seen a dentist in years. I’m sure this science is sound.

I love it! I’ve bought a new tube of toothpaste thinking i’m almost out and then keep using the old one for months! I use one of those slidersquisher things and MAN you can get every last “pea” of paste in that tube! Ha! Well, i had more to say but the submit comment dissapeared? I guess there’s a limit…. or this space got tired of listening?
