I hope that everyone had a very merry Christmas indeed. I had a very nice one with church in the morning and time with the Royuks and Pesters in the afternoon. Lloyd is visiting his family in Missouri, and judging from his texts, they had a fine day of visiting and watching Paint Your Wagon (as is tradition).
St John does such a nice job of worshipping God with music, I thought I’d share a link to the music from the Christmas service: Click HERE
I have one more day off before going into work on Friday, so I think we are going to go to Lincoln to do some shopping. Yay, shopping!
Oh, and I wrote one more poem. Mom, you’ve already read it, but here it is again. 🙂
Her body was tired
From riding for days.
They arrived at the town
….. a very small place.
From building to building
He knocked at the doors.
“No room,” they all said.
“We’re sleeping on floors.”
So many in town.
Quite the booming society!
The smile on her face
Belied her anxiety.
This kid was coming.
She needed a bed.
Joseph looked anxious.
One kindly man said,
“Go ‘round the back.
The stable is there.
It’s out of the wind
And the creatures won’t care.”
They made their way ‘round,
Joseph looked with alarm.
Mary lifted her eyes.
“Are you kidding? A barn?
The Savior of all
Is arriving here now?
You have got to be kidding.”
She sat down by a cow.
“Well,” Joseph said,
“While it’s not filled with glory,
You’ve got to admit –
This will make a great story.”
