Happy Father’s Day to my Dad! I wish I could be there in Colorado, but I’m thinking about you all the time. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads I know, too!
One thing that I am very grateful for, Dad, is the love of camping that you instilled in your children. Some weekend mornings, I like to build a tiny fire for myself and call it ‘council fire’. Sitting in the backyard, drinking a cup of coffee, watching the fire and listening to the birds around me strikes all the camping notes for an hour or two. It’s like being eight years old and waking up in the early morning to the smell of fire, mom heating some water so we can wash our faces, and all that’s missing is the sound of the river.
Happy Sunday! One thing that I am grateful for with online church is that I can do this before the service and don’t have to wash the smoke smell off.

If anyone read this earlier and wondered if I was a mental patient, I was using ‘voice to text’ and forgot to edit it. Hopefully I’ve corrected most of the typos.

Thank you, Lauren! I miss camping. How important camping would be for you all didn’t even cross my mind back than. Mom did all the heavy lifting, making sure you had the clothes, towels and food to make us comfortable. Even Granddad commented on how quiet and relaxed you all were in camp.

Yay! Happy Fathers Day, fathers! I’m sorry I slept through the morning fire. I did at least get to smell it in your hair when you walked past later. They should make a perfume that makes you smell like that. It’s a great smell.
